Biography
Beş Yıl Once, On Yıl Sonra was a Turkish group, using the Abba-format of two men and two women. The name of the band meant Five Years Ago, Ten Years Later. They released their debut album in 1982. Releasing their second album in 1983, in the same year they participated in the Turkish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. However, their song “Atlantis” became second and they had to wait for yet another year to represent their country. In 1984 they sang “Halay” at the Eurovision stage. In 1985 they teamed up with Ajda Pekkan to make an album together. After 1988, they didn’t release any records until the last one in 2001.
