Biography
Born in Barcelona, Bacchelli is the son of an Italian father and a Spanish mother. After a few years in Finland, he returned to Spain and participated in the Festival of Benidorm in 1977. In the following years he recorded several singles that were successfull in Latin America. He attempted to represent Spain in the 1979 Eurovision Song Contest, but unsuccessfull. In 1980, he sang the title song for a film. One year later, he represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Y sólo tú”. At the same time, Bacchelli’s debut album was released. Another album with new material was released soon after, but in Spain Bacchelli had no real success anymore. He moved to Ecuador, where he was a representative for other artists. However, he recorded music himself too: “Vida mía en Ecuador”. He played in a tv-series in Ecuador. That’s where he met his wife, actress and model Gianella Avellaneda. The couple lives in Guayaquil and has two children, Gianfranco and Gianella.
