Biography
Athena Manoukian is a Greek singer of Armenian descent, born in Athens. She gained national attention in 2007 when she won first prize in the TV show This is What’s Missing. The following year, she participated in the Greek national final for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
In 2011, Athena released her debut single, Party Like a Freak, which became a hit in Greece. This success was followed by I Surrender and Na Les Pos M’Agapas, all of which achieved gold status.
Her international breakthrough came in 2013 with the song XO. The track won the Armenian Pulse Award for Best Song in English and the European Song Contest in Armenia. In both 2015 and 2016, she was considered as a potential representative for several countries in the Eurovision Song Contest, though she was ultimately not selected. In 2017, she wrote a song for Helena Paparizou, and in 2018, she performed as a guest artist on The X Factor UK.
In 2020, Athena was chosen to represent Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Chains on You. However, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite this setback, she continued her music career, releasing three singles in 2021. In 2022, she followed up with Kiss Me in the Rain.
Athena remained active in the music industry, expanding her repertoire with new releases. In 2023, she launched OMG, a song blending pop and R&B influences. She continued to develop her international profile, performing at various music events and collaborating with different artists. In 2024, she participated in several songwriting projects and worked on new music, maintaining her presence in the industry. In early 2025, she announced plans for an upcoming album and hinted at a return to major music competitions. She wil participate in Depi Evratesil again, with the song “DaQueenation”.
