Biography

Arzu Ece (borb Arzu Özkaraman, 22 September 1963, Istanbul) is a singer and songwriter.

She first represented Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1989 with the song Bana Bana, a composition by Timur Selcuk, in “Grup Pan”. In 1995, she represented Turkey in the 40th Eurovision Song Contest with her song “Sev” and participated in the contest for the second time. Yeşim Dön Işın sang “Sev” in the rehearsals before the National Final. However, with a change at the last moment, the soloist of the song was Arzu Ece, who would sing “Sevda” with Fatih Erkoç in the same competition. Thus, Arzu Ece gave two performances in the competition held in Ankara on March 18, 1995. “Sev”, which came first in the National Final, placed 16th in the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest with 21 points.

In 2000, she sang the works named “Bizim Hikayemiz” and “Yine O Şarkı “in a tv series. In 2006 she had her signature on the music of the TV series Sevda Çiçeği.

She was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. She participated in Star Ana Haber as the guest of Uğur Dündar. In her hopeful fight against cancer, she came to the fore again with the song “Kemo Ağa”.
