Biography

Anna Henrietta Bergendahl, born  in Hägersten in Stockholm, is a Swedish singer, songwriter and doctor.

Bergendahl rose to fame through her participation in Idol 2008 where she finished in fifth place. However, the big breakthrough came when she participated in Melodifestivalen 2010 with the song “This Is My Life”. With the win, she also became Sweden’s representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 and had to compete in the second semi-final, where she was eliminated and ended up in eleventh place, six points from going to the final. Her entry is so far the only Swedish entry that has not qualified for the Eurovision final.

Bergendahl made her first public appearance at the age of eight with Céline Dion’s song “My Heart Will Go On” at York Cathedral, UK. As a 15-year-old, she also appeared in the TV4 program Super Troupers with the song “Play That Funky Music”, in 2004

Anna Bergendahl took part in Melodifestivalen again in 2020 (“Kingdome come”) and in 2022 (“Higher power”).

In 2016, Bergendahl began studying to become a doctor. In January 2023, Bergendahl took his medical degree.
