Biography

Angela Farrell is an Irish singer. She performed for the first time in 1966 at a charity concert. She continued performing while finishing school. Although she was described as the ‘singing discovery’, her breakthrough came in 1971. She took part in the Irish National Song Contest, won it, and thus represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “One day love”. Although she did not win the contest, she reached the #4 spot in the Irish charts. After Eurovision, she joined a cabaret group. However, in december 1971 she finally had a follow up single for “One day love”, entitled “I am what I am”. Again, Angela scored a hit in Ireland. At the same time, she took the leading role in the musical “Cinderella”. She kept on working in cabaret plays. Angela Farrell released one more record. In 1973, she wrote a letter to Maxi, expressing her feelings about, according to her words, the lack of interest within RTÉ to win Eurovision.
Angela Farrell later moved to the USA and Australia, were she worked as a chemist.
