Biography
Aphrodite Frieda is a Greek singer, born and raised in Athens. She studied music for eight years at the Athens National Conservatory and began her career in 1985. That year she was among the 10 finalists who competed for representation of Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest, but her entry “Donald Duck” did not win. Afroditi returned to the Greek selection for Eurovision in 1988. She sang the song “Clown”, and won, so she represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest.
In 1989, Afroditi Fryda recorded her first album and in 1995 she began working with Xenia Dikaiou and Nancy Kanelli. Kanelli wrote three songs for Afroditi.
Throughout her career, Frieda has collaborated with many famous Greek singers, including Marinella, Haris Alexiou, and others. She now performs in small music venues in Athens.
