Biography
Adrian Gaxha, born on February 13, 1984, in Skopje, North Macedonia, is a Macedonian-Albanian singer, songwriter, producer, and dancer. He began his musical journey at a young age, learning to play the viola and graduating from a music high school. He furthered his education by studying English Language in Skopje.
Gaxha’s rise to fame commenced in 2001 when he participated in Nota Fest, a pop festival organized by the Albanian community in Macedonia. His performance earned him first prize, marking the first time a newcomer won both the jury and audience votes. This victory catapulted him into the spotlight, leading to widespread popularity across Macedonia, Albania, and other Albanian-speaking regions.
Throughout his career, Gaxha has released multiple albums, including “Luj, Luj, Luj” in 2003, “Thuaj Mamit” in 2004, “300 Godini” in 2008, and “E Brenduar” in 2010. His music often blends traditional Balkan sounds with contemporary pop elements, showcasing his versatility as an artist.
In 2008, Gaxha represented North Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest alongside Tamara Todevska and Vrčak with the song “Let Me Love You.” Despite a strong performance, they placed 10th in the semi-final and did not advance to the final.
Post-Eurovision, Gaxha continued to produce music and collaborate with various artists. In 2012, he participated in the Kënga Magjike music festival with Florian Beqiri, performing the song “Ngjyra e kuqe,” which became a significant hit. He followed this success with the release of “Kjo zemër,” further cementing his status in the Albanian music scene.
Between 2015 and 2019, Gaxha released several singles, including “Kalle” (2015), “Asnihere” (2016), “Money” (2016), “My Girl” (2016), “Ka je 2x” (2017), “Lujmi krejt” (2018), “Lady Malena” (2018), and “Ajshe” (2019).
In 2020, Adrian released the single “Ajo” featuring rapper Capital T, which garnered significant attention and showcased his ability to blend traditional Balkan sounds with contemporary beats. In 2021, Gaxha collaborated with Albanian singer Yll Limani on the track “Nuk je ajo,” further expanding his musical repertoire. The following year, he embarked on a regional tour, performing in major cities across the Balkans, including Tirana, Pristina, and Skopje, to promote his new music. In 2023, Gaxha ventured into music production, establishing his own record label, AG Records, aiming to support emerging artists in the region.
