Biography
Who are Abor & Tynna?
Abor & Tynna are an Austrian sibling duo set to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. The duo consists of Attila and Tünde Bornemisza, two talented musicians from Vienna, Austria, with Hungarian-Romanian roots. Combining pop, electronic, and hip-hop elements, their unique sound blends classical influences with modern beats.
Musical Background and Career
Abor & Tynna grew up in a musical household. Their father, a cellist in the Vienna Philharmonic, introduced them to classical music at an early age. Both siblings played classical instruments – Attila on cello and Tünde on flute – before transitioning to songwriting and contemporary music.
The duo officially formed in 2016, performing at local venues and developing their signature style. They gained recognition in 2024 when they opened for German pop star Nina Chuba on tour. Around the same time, they signed with Jive Germany (Sony Music) and released a series of successful singles. Their breakthrough song, “Küsschen” (2024), blended rap and pop influences, showcasing their witty songwriting and energetic performance style.
Eurovision 2025 – Germany’s Entry
Abor & Tynna were selected to represent Germany after winning “Chefsache ESC 2025 – Wer singt für Deutschland?”, the country’s new Eurovision selection format, created by TV legend Stefan Raab. Their song, “Baller”, won the national final on March 1, 2025, securing 34.9% of the public vote.
About the Song: “Baller”
“Baller” is a high-energy German-language pop track with electronic and hip-hop elements. The song, co-written and produced by Alexander Hauer, features catchy hooks, pulsating beats, and a bold stage performance. During the national final, Attila played the cello live onstage, only to dramatically smash it at the song’s climax, symbolizing their break from classical traditions.
With Germany being part of the “Big 5”, Abor & Tynna will perform directly in the Eurovision 2025 Grand Final, where they hope to bring Germany one of its best results in years.
Their selection has sparked excitement among Eurovision fans who appreciate their authenticity, energy, and originality. Some have even compared their bold stage presence to past successful acts like Måneskin and The Roop.
What’s Next for Abor & Tynna?
Following Eurovision, Abor & Tynna plan to release their debut album “Bittersüß” in mid-2025. They have also announced a European tour, bringing their dynamic performances to international audiences.
With their unique sound and artistic vision, Abor & Tynna are ready to leave a lasting mark on Eurovision 2025.
