Recap First Rehearsals Day 3

Today we have watched another 9 first rehearsals at Day 3. In our opinion Greece, Iceland and Austria impressed the most, all  in a completely different way. Greece because of the graphics, Austria because of the vocals, and Iceland because of the typical but outstanding performance. Most dissapointing rehearsals: Estonia and Poland; bad act, bad vocals. 1st Rehearsal for Bookmakers Favorite Destiny for Malta

Destiny appears onstage in a pink outfit, just like her dancers. Destiny lives up to all expectations vocally. “Je me casse” is a swinging, dynamic song, but as yet they don’t know how to convey the dynamics. It must now be said that both the favorites of 2018 (Netta) and 2019 (Duncan) did not impress at all during their first rehearsal, and we all know how that ended.  In Cooperation with     Eurovision Artists Photo Credits: EBU

1st Rehearsal Ukraine

Go_A appears on stage with singer Kateryna Pavlenko in a greenish robe and the men, both the two musicians and the dancers, in white. The dancers have a kind of luminous halo that they keep behind their heads. They are in the middle of what most resembles a forest after an atomic eruption. There are many and intense visuals. Towards the end we see people who seem to be on the run from something. Vocally (whether you like her voice or not) this performance was fine. In other years, EMA was the national final in which the Slovenian entry for the contest was chosen. This year, it will be different. One of the main reasons is that Slovenian TV-station RTVSLO decided to select Ana Soklič for the contest. She was supposed to represent her country in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. Ljiljana Petrović, a Serbian singer, won the Yugoslav preselection on behalve of RTV Ljubljana. The famous Slovenian composer Jože Privšek composed the entry “Neke davne zvezde”. In memory of Toše Proeski

Today, exactly 13 years ago, it was a very sad day for North-Macedonia. One of the most popular singers from this country, Toše Proeski, died in a car accident.Proeski rose to fame in 1997 when he participated in the national festival Makfest with the song “Pušti me”. He took part in several contests after this, both in North-Macedonia and abroad. In 2003 Proeski won Beovizija. In that year, Serbia and Montenegro was not allowed to take part in Eurovision; in later years, Beovizija became the national selection for the contest. One year later, North-Macedonia selected Toše Proeski to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest with his song “Angel si ti”, Which was sung in English during the contest as “Life”. The song reached the final and became 14th there. When Toše Proeski died, the day of his funeral became a national day of mourning in North-Macedonia. And still, he is a hero in his country and abroad. Let us never forget Toše Proeski. photo: Danny Mekic, Wikimedia Commons
