Rotterdam 2020

Tonight, the first semifinal of Beovizija, the Serbian national final, will be held. You can watch it here at 21:00 CET. Of the twelve competing songs, six will head to the final. They will be chosen by an expert jury and the audience. The songs are: EJO, “Trag” Milica Mišić, “Kiša” Ivan Kurtić & Mistik Cello, “Sabajle” Thea Devy, “Sudnji dan” Karizma, “Ona me zna” Andrija Jo, “”Oči Meduze” Sanja Bogosavljević, “Ne puštam” Marko Marković, “Kolači” Srđan Lazić, “Duša i telo” Neda Ukraden, “Bomba” Bilja & Amvon duo, “Raj” Igor Simić, “Ples za rastanak” Ivan Kurtić took part in Beovizija in 2018 and 2019. Neda Ukraden can be called ‘grand old lady’ of Beovizija. She took part in the Yugoslav national selection of 1969, 1975, 1976, 1981 and 1986. 

Poland has chosen. An expert jury and televoters both chose Alicja Szemplińska as their favorite, so she will represent Poland in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam with the song “Empire”. The full results are: Alicja Szemplińska, “Empire”, 10 pts Albert Černý, “Lucy”, 6 pts. Kasia Dereń, “Ufaj mi”, 2 pts. Poland will perform in the first half of the 2nd semifinal.

This afternoon at 15.15 CET, Poland will select it’s Eurovision title. You can watch the show here. The last three weeks, three finalists were chosen. First they will sing a random song, after that they will present their Eurovision Song. The three contestants are: Kasia Dereń, “Ufaj mi” Alicja Szemplińska, “Empire” Albert Černý, “Lucy” Last year, Albert Černý represented the Czech Republic as a member of the band Lake Malawi.

The results of the first Portuguese semifinal are in. The four songs, going through to the final, are mentioned in bold: MEERA, “Copo de gin” Filipe Sambado, “Gerbera amarela do sul” Ian Mucznik, “O dia de amanhã” Bárbara Tinoco, “Passe-partout” Blasted Mechanics, “Rebellion” Elisa, “Medo de sentir” JJaZZ, “Agora” Throes + The Shine, “Movimento”

Ana Soklič is going to represent Slovenia. An expert jury chose two songs out of the twelve presented: “Voda”, sung by Ana Soklič and “Man like U”, sung by Lina Kuduzović. The televoters chose Ana Soklič to represent their country. The song is written by Ana herself and composed by Ana together with Bojan Simončič. Ana took part before in the national final in 2007 as a member of the Diona Dim Team. Slovenia will perform in the first half of the first semifinal. It is Go-A who will represent the Ukraine in the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam this year. They were chosen by both jury and televoters to get the ticket. Their song is called “Solovey” and is written and composed by Taras Shevchenko and Kateryna Pavlenko. The full results of tonights contest are: Go-A, “Solovey”, 12 pts. In Sweden there are results. Surprisingly, Nanne Grönvall was the first victim tonight. Also Slovenia will select a song tonight. The show will start at 20:00 CET and you can watch it here. Out of 12 songs, two will be chosen by an expert jury. The final decision out of these two will be made by the Slovenian televoter. The show will be hosted by Klemen Slakonja. The contestants are:  Simon Vadnjal, “Nisi sam” Saška, “Še kar lovim tvoj nasmeh” Gaja Prestor, “Verjamem vase” Ana Soklič, “Voda” Inmate, “The salt” Manca Berlec, “Večnost” Tinkara Kovač, “Forever” Božidar Wolfand Wolf, “Maybe someday” Parvani Violet, “Cupid” Klara Jazbec, “Stop the world” Imset, “Femme fatale” Lina Kuduzović, “Man like U” Ana Soklič took part in the 2007 national final as a member of the Diona Dim Team.  Inmate took part last year. Lina Kuduzović represented Slovenia in the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Božidar Wolfand Wolf participated in the 1986 Yugoslav national final. Tinkara Kovač could be found on the Eurovision Stage in 2014 with the song “Round and round”. This is the 5th time she participates in EMA.
