Here we go again! Just as last week, Norway and Lithuania will hold a semifinal. Slovenia will have EMA Freš. The Norwegian semifinal, which again will provide one song for the final of Melodi Grand Prix, can be watched at 19:50 CET here. Vasil Garvanliev for North Macedonia

It’s raining new names for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. For North Macedonia, it’s gonna be Vasil Garvanliev. Vasil is a familiar name in Eurovision. Last year in Tel Aviv, he supported Tamara Todevska when she sang her song “Proud” and received the highest number of votes from the expert jury. As a 7 year old boy, Vasil was already famous in North Macedonia. His family went to the United States but came back when Vasil was 17 years old. Back in Macedonia, he took part in the 2007 national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. He went to Toronto to work there and came back in 2018. Also for Vasil counts that his song will be presented in March. It’s gonna be a busy month for Eurovision fans!

Confirmed: Tom Leeb for France

It was a rumour already, but now today it has been confirmed: Tom Leeb will represent France in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. After two years of national finals “Destination Eurovision”, French television chose for an internal selection again. Tom Leeb is a French actor, singer and comedian. In 2013, he rose to fame as an actor in the television series “Sous le soleil de Saint-Tropez”. Five years later, he started a singing career. The song Tom will sing will be announced on a later moment.

Two countries start their series of national finals today, one continues. That means, a busy night for the national final addicts! Norway is the first one, starting at 19:50 CET. You can watch the show here. Four songs will compete in duels. In the end, one song will go to the final. The contestants are: Kim Rysstad, “Rainbow” Raylee, “Wild” Geirmund, “Come alive” Lisa Børud, “Talking about us”. Lithuania is the first one. They will start at 20:00 CET. It’s Jeangu Macrooy for the Netherlands

“THE WORD IS OUT! I am indescribably honored to represent The Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020! It’s a dream come true and the most beautiful thing that has come my way so far. My team and I are excited to make you all very proud! Let’s go!”, those are the words Jeangu Macrooy wrote on his Facebook page today. He will be the Dutch representative in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. Yesterday, Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad mentioned Jeangu as the Dutch representative. That was just a few hours after his manager denied Jeangu’s participation. Jeangu Macrooy is a Surinam-Dutch soulsinger. He was born in Paramaribo and came to The Netherlands in 2014. He is most wellknown for his song “Gold”, which was part of a commercial for Game of Thrones. He became more wellknown to the Dutch audience by playing the role of Judas in The Passion, a Dutch television show around the easter story. The song Jeangu Macrooy will bring, will probably be presented in march. Lithuania: 11th time lucky for Aistė Pilvelytė?

The songs and artists for the 2020 Lithuanian national final are revealed. And to our surprise (or not?) one of the contestants will be Aistė Pilvelytė. She is not quite new to the Lithuanian national final. The first time Lithuania had a national selection anyway, in 1999, she was one of the contestants. Another nine attempts to represent her country were about to follow. In 2008, 2010 and 2017, she came closest to Eurovision with a second place. Can it be 11th time lucky for her? Another contestant you might recognize is Monika Marija. She became 2nd in last year’s national final. Two winners from EMA Freš known!

There’s a result in Slovenia as well. One entry was chosen by the televoting viewers, the other one by a jury. The lucky ones in Slovenia were the group Parvani Violet and singer Saška. They will join the other artists in EMA, the Slovenian national final.

Winner known in Norway

Another finalist in Norway is known. After a duel where Kim Wigaard and Maria Mohn won before Tore Petterson, and Rein Alexander won before Jæger, an excisting final duel followed. Rein Alexander however, managed to win it and will be added to the list of final participants.

Here we go again! Just as last week, Norway and Lithuania will hold a semifinal. Slovenia will have EMA Freš. Vasil Garvanliev for North Macedonia

It’s raining new names for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. For North Macedonia, it’s gonna be Vasil Garvanliev. Vasil is a familiar name in Eurovision. Last year in Tel Aviv, he supported Tamara Todevska when she sang her song “Proud” and received the highest number of votes from the expert jury. As a 7 year old boy, Vasil was already famous in North Macedonia. His family went to the United States but came back when Vasil was 17 years old. Confirmed: Tom Leeb for France

It was a rumour already, but now today it has been confirmed: Tom Leeb will represent France in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest. After two years of national finals “Destination Eurovision”, French television chose for an internal selection again. Tom Leeb is a French actor, singer and comedian. In 2013, he rose to fame as an actor in the television series “Sous le soleil de Saint-Tropez”. Five years later, he started a singing career. The song Tom will sing will be announced on a later moment.

It’s Jeangu Macrooy for the Netherlands

Lithuania: 11th time lucky for Aistė Pilvelytė?

The songs and artists for the 2020 Lithuanian national final are revealed. And to our surprise (or not?) one of the contestants will be Aistė Pilvelytė. She is not quite new to the Lithuanian national final. The first time Lithuania had a national selection anyway, in 1999, she was one of the contestants.
