This is the allocation draw 2025! Today, this draw took place. The draw is meant to decide which country will perform in which semifinal. Surprisingly, the key was not hand over from Malmö to Basel. A dress was handed over as a gift from Malmö to the city of Basel. As for the Big 5 and hostcountry Switzerland, it is decided in which semifinal they will present their song and where they will vote. In the first semifinal: Switzerland, Italy and Spain. 🇱🇺 Laura Thorn wins in Luxembourg

Laura Thorn wins in Luxembourg. She will thus represent the grandduchy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The song is written by Ludovic-Alexandre Vidal and composed by Julien Salva. The song was the clear winner of the expert jury, while Zero Point Five was the televoters’ favourite. Upcoming Tuesday we will know whether Laura will perform in the first or second semifinal. 🇱🇺 Luxembourg selects a song

Tonight is the night: Luxembourg selects a song. Last year they returned to Eurovision after a long break… and they stay! The show starts at 20:00 and you can watch it here. The show will be held in the Rockhal in Esch-zur-Alzette. Out of 7 songs, an international jury ánd televoters will select the entry for Luxembourg. The band became 6th.Rafa Ela parfticipated too last year, in a duet with Angy Sciacqua. They were 5th. Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest Luxembourg has an illustrious history in the Eurovision Song Contest, despite a long absence. The country participated in the very first contest in 1956 and became one of the competition’s most successful nations, winning five times between 1961 and 1983. The first victory came in 1961 with Jean-Claude Pascal’s “Nous les amoureux”, followed by a win in 1965 with “Poupée de cire, poupée de son” by France Gall. The 1970s and early 1980s saw Luxembourg continuing to shine with standout performances, including Vicky Leandros‘s “Après Toi” (1972), Anne-Marie David‘s “Tu te reconnaîtras” (1973) and Corinne Hermès‘s “Si la vie est cadeau” (1983). Luxembourg’s strategic approach involved often hiring famous international artists and songwriters, giving the country an edge in a competition where musical quality and presentation were key. However, financial difficulties and shifting priorities led to Luxembourg’s withdrawal after 1993, leaving fans nostalgic for their golden years. In 2024, Luxembourg made its triumphant return to the Eurovision Song Contest, marking its first appearance in 30 years.

🇧🇪 Belgium presents the second group of songs tonight

photo: VRT Belgium presents the second group of songs tonight. Four of the eight entries will be presented on Belgian television. There will be no selection or competition yet. Last week, the other four were presented and on February 1st, the Belgian selection will be held. The show starts at 20:55 CET and you can watch it here. These are the four songs of tonight: Jelle van Dael sings “Monster” Mentissa sings “Désolée” Stefanie Callebaut sings “Gloria” Red Sebastian sings “Strobe lights” All four artists are new to Eurovision and the national finals. However, Jelle van Dael reached international fame as a member of the band Lasgo. Mentissa took part in the French version of The Voice. Belgium is currently in the lead in the betting odds.

🇱🇹 There is a third heat in Lithuania

There is a third heat in Lithuania. The show will start at 20.00 CET and you can watch it here and on YouTube. It’s the third out of 5 heats. Each heat contains out of 9 songs. Two songs will head to the final on February 15. These are the 9 contestants of tonight: Amari, “Sirens Call” Thomas G, “Highest Goals” Queens of Roses, “Taip!” Gøya, “After Storm” Hansanova, “Leilydo” MeidĖ, “Gyvatės” Gebrasy, “Whole” Indrė & Laimonas, “Lamo” Black Biceps, “Visaip man reik” Thomas G participated last year in the heats but didn’t reach the final.Queens of Roses took part in 2017 (wildcard round), 2019 (quarterfinal), 2022 (8th) and 2024 (10th).Hansanova took part in last year’s heats. They didn’t get into the final.Gebrasy was involved in 2019 (quarterfinal), 2021 (2nd), 2022 (5th) and 2023 (semifinal).

Yuval Raphael will represent Israel

Yuval Raphael will represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland. She was chosen through the national selection Hakokhav Haba. The song Yuval will sing will be written especially for her and presented later. 🇮🇱 Tonight Israel will select an artist

Tonight Israel will select an artist. As in many other years, HaKokhav HaBa will be the national final. After 15 shows, a quarter final and two semifinals, the moment is there. Four contestants will go into the arena. Three of them will be selected by televoters to head to a superfinal. Televoters and jury then will select the singer going to Basel. One of the jury members is former Eurovision participant Shiri Maimon. The show starts at 20:30 CET and you can watch it here.
