🇱🇻 Latvia will select an entry tonight

Latvia will select their entry tonight. After a semifinal last week, 10 songs will compete in the final of Supernova. The show starts at 20:10 CET and you can watch it here. Lauris Reiniks and Ketija Šēnberga will host the show, that takes place in LTV Studio 6 in Riga. Below you will find the 10 competing songs: nr. Title Artist(s) 1 Kur? 🇫🇮 Finland in search for Käärijä’s successor

All eyes are on Finland this year. After the success of Käärijä, everybody’s anxious to hear what the Nordic country will bring. Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK), the Finnish national final, contains 7 songs. None of the artists ever took part in the national final. The show starts at 20:00 CET and you can watch it here. 🇱🇹 5th heat in Lithuania

Tonight is the night: the 5th and last episode of the Lithuanian preselection Eurovizija LT will be held. Two songs will head to the final. So after tonight, we know the full line up of the final, which will be held next week. The show will start at 20.00 CET and you can watch it here or at the LRT app. These are the 8 competing songs of tonight: Freya Alley sings “Serenade” Kàro sings “Weightless” Petras sings “Run” Queens of Roses sing “Walk through fire” April Frey sings “New Years” Emilija V sings “Trophy wife” The Roop sing “Simple joy” Lina Štalytė sings “Perfect” Queens of Roses took part in 2017 and ended up in the 2nd chance round. In 2019 they ended in the heats.Emilija V participated in the 2018 heats and in the 2022 quarter final.The Roop was supposed to represent Lithuania in 2020 with “On fire” and got the chance to do so in 2021 with “Discoteque”. They were also 3rd in the 2018 national final. The Roop’s 2020 song, “On fire”. The Roop sing “Discoteque” in 2021.

🇸🇪 Sweden: Melodifestivalen continues

Melodifestivalen, the Swedish national selection, continues with a second heat. As Sweden is the host country, the winning song will go directly to the final. Two songs will go directly to the final, two other songs will go for ‘final qualification’, something that will be decided after the 5th heat. The show starts at 20:00 CET and you can watch it here or on the SVT Play app. These are the competing songs: Maria Sur sings “When I’m gone” Engmans Kapell sings “Norrland” Dear Sara sings “The silence after you” C-Joe sings “Ahumma” Liamoo sings “Dragon” Fröken Snusk sings “Unga & fria” Maria Sur was 9th in last year’s Melodifestivalen final.Liamoo was 6th in 2018. He was 2nd in 2019 with Hanna Ferm. In 2022 he was 4th.

🇩🇪 Floryan wins “Ich Will Zum ESC!”

After an exciting evening, in which three artists presented a possible German Eurovision entry, it’s Floryan who won the ticket to the German final. Floryan, the only member of team Rea (Rea Garvey) sang the song “Scars”. Both of the other contestants were members of team Conchita (Conchita Wurst). Although Anne Im (“Yellow brick road”) and Luca M. Wefes (“Farben neuer Tag”) also gained a lot of cheers from the audience, it was Floryan who received the most votes. The German final will be held on February 16.

🇩🇪 Germany: final of Ich will zum ESC!

Tonight the final of the show Ich will zum ESC! (I wanna go to ESC) will be held. Out of three candidates, one will be added to the German final next week. The coaches are Conchita Wurst and Rea Garvey. The show starts at 22:00 and you can watch it here and here. The three contestants are: Anne Im (team Conchita) Floryan (team Rea) Luca M. Wefes (team Conchita) A fourth candidate, Bibiane Z. (team Rea), had to withdraw due to an illness.

Eden Golan wins HaKokhav HaBa (The Next Star)

After months of figthing for the victory, Eden Golan has won HaKokhav HaBa. She won over the jury, and the public vote aswell with 153 points! It was between her, Or Cohen who ended with 135 points, and Mika Moshe with 72 points. The show was used for searching the Isreali Eurovision entry, and now we have one. This song is not the Eurovision song for Malmö. In March the song will be released, with definite hebrew & possible english lyrics.

🇮🇱 Israel selects an artist for Eurovision

Tonight will be the night that Israel selects an artist for Eurovision. The final of HaKokhav Haba, the talent show that is also the Israeli preselection, will be held. The song that he or she will sing will be published later. The show starts at 20:15 CET and you can watch it here. Artist Dor Shimon Eden Golan Mika Moshe Or Cohen Note that there is a lot of opposition against the participation of Israel, due to the Israel-Hamas war. In a statement, the EBU said that they will not exclude Israel from Eurovision as this is a competition between broadcasters and not between governments. Israeli broadcaster Kan did not break any rules according to the EBU.

🇮🇹 This is the week of Sanremo

Festival di Sanremo 2024 is going to start tonight. Tonight, all the artists will sing their song for the first time. The upcoming five days, you can watch Sanremo every night. After the final, the winner will let us know whether he or she will represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö this year. Tonight’s show starts at 20.40 CET. 🇸🇪 Petra Mede and Malin Åkerman to host

Petra Mede and Malin Åkerman will host the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. That is what Swedish broadcaster SVT announced today. For Petra Mede, it’s already the third time she will host the contest. In 2013, in Malmö (!), she did the job alone. Three years later in Stockholm, she hosted the show with Måns Zelmerlöw. She commented on having the job for a third time: ‘Imagine getting the chance to host Eurovision once again! It’s such an incredible honor. After first hosting it alone and then together with the delightful Måns Zelmerlöw by my side, I am now really looking forward to working with Malin. We don’t know each other from before, but we have met a couple of times now, and I’m already completely sold. It’s going to be a joy to work with her!’ Malin Åkerman hails from Stockholm but was brought up in Canada. Currently, she resides in Los Angeles alongside her family. Her impressive career spans across both television and film, featuring notable roles in TV series like “The Comeback” and “Entourage,” as well as memorable appearances in movies such as “The Heartbreak Kid” and “Watchmen.” Malin has shared the screen with renowned stars like Tom Cruise, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, and The Rock. Additionally, she has showcased her singing talents on the Swedish theatre stage in productions like “A Piece of My Heart.”
