The results of the second semifinal in Sweden are in. Two songs go directly to the final. Two other songs go to ‘Andra chancen’, the 2nd chance round. Tonight is the night for Croatia

DORA, the national final of Croatia, will take place tonight. It will start at 20.00 and you can watch it here; note that you have to register for free. You might also be able to watch it here (not sure!). The songs are: Alkonost of Balkan, “Rijeka” Eric Vidović, “Reci mi” Ella Orešković, “Come this way” Bernarda Brunović, “Colors” Sandi Cenov, “Kriv” ToMa, “Ocean of love” Filip Rudan, “Blind” Beta Sudar, “Ma zamisli” Cambi, “Zaljubljen” Ashley Colburn & Bojan Jambrošić, “Share the love” Brigita Vuco, “Noći pijane” Mia Negovetić, “She’s like a dream” Albina Grčić, “Tick-Tock” Tony Cetinski & Kiki Rahimovski, “Zapjevaj, sloboda je” Bernarda Brunović took part in the 2019 national final, as did Beta Sudar and Bojan Jambrošić . Jambrošić was also one of the participants in 2020. So was Mia Negovetić. Sandi Cenov was involved in the 2006 national selection. Tony Cetinski took part in DORA 1993, 1994 and 2001. In 1994 he was the winner and represented Croatia in the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Nek’ ti bude ljubav sva”. One of the members of Alkonost of Balkan is Nina Kraljić. She represented Croatia in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest and reached the final for her country with the song “Lighthouse”.

Norway comes up with 5th semifinal

Today, the fifth semifinal of Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix will start. It can be seen at 19.55 CET, and you can watch it here. Last year, Ulrikke won the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix. Tonight, the popular Melodifestivalen will have it’s second semifnial! Different from other years is that all the semifinals and the final will be in one place, due to the corona virus. The contest starts at 20.00 CET and you can watch it here. The contestants are: Anton Ewald, “New religion” Julia Alfrida, “Rich” WAHL feat. SAMI, “90-talet” Frida Green, “The silence” Eva Rydberg & Ewa Roos, “Rena rama ding dong” Patrik Jean, “Tears run dry” Dotter, “Little Tot” Anton Ewald took part in Melodifestivalen in 2013 and 2014, both years he reached the final. Also Eva Rydberg took part in Melodifestivalen before, in 1977 (!!). Patrik Jean wrote last year’s winning song “Move” for The Mamas. Dotter was the hot favorite in the 2020 Melodifestivalen but came 2nd in the end. Will she win this year? At least she takes the first step tonight.

Blas Cantó: you decide

Spain will be represented by Blas Cantó. He was already chosen to represent Spain in the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, but due to the cancellation of the contest, he couldn’t perform his song “Universo”. This year, Blas has two options. The titles of the songs are “Memoria” and “Voy a quedarme”. He has one problem: he can not make a choice, as both songs express his feelings. So he gave it out of hands. The decision which song it is going to be in Rotterdam will be up to…. YOU! Follow this link, and you’ll be able to vote for one of the two songs. The Roop represents Lithuania!

Photo: Instagram It’s definitely not a surprise: The Roop has won the Lithuanian national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. They will go to Rotterdam with their song “Discoteque”. The full results of the contest were: The Roop, “Discoteque” 24 pt. Gebrasy, “Where’d you wanna go”, 20 pt. Voldemars Petersons, “Never fall for you again”, 15 pt. Martyna Jezepčikaitė, “Thank you very much”, 13 pt. Evita Cololo, “Be paslapčių”, 12 pt. Titas & Benas, “No”, 12 pt. It is the second time The Roop is chosen to represent Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest. However, last year their song “On fire” could not participate, due to the cancellation of the contest. We can now add The Roop at the long row of 2020 participants who get a second chance.

The Roop for Lithuania?

After several semifinals, it is time for the final now in Lithuania. Huge favorite to win this thing tonight is The Roop. They got a wildcard for the final because they won the contest last year. Due to the corona virus they couldn’t represent Lithuania in the international contest. A pity, because they were one of the favorites to even win the ESC! The show starts at 20.00 CET and you can watch it here and here. Tonight’s contestants are: Evita Cololo, “Be paslapčių” Gebrasy, “Where’d you wanna go” Martyna Jezepčikaitė, “Thank you very much” The Roop, “Discoteque” Titas & Benas, “No” Voldemars Petersons, “Never fall for you again” Voldemars Petersons was a member of the band Kupido. They took part in 2007. As a soloist, Voldemars was involved in the 2019 and 2020 contests. However, he never made it to a 2nd round.  We saw Benas Malakauskas (Titas & Benas) doing attempts in 2017 and 2018. As we said, The Roop won the 2020 national final. But also in 2018, they took part.

The Roop for Lithuania?

After several semifinals, it is time for the final now in Lithuania. Huge favorite to win this thing tonight is The Roop. They got a wildcard for the final because they won the contest last year. Due to the corona virus they couldn’t represent Lithuania in the international contest. A pity, because they were one of the favorites to even win the ESC!
