🇪🇸 Spain: Results are in at Benidorm Fest

The first semifinal of Benidorm Fest took place, and the results are in. Four songs will go through to the final. This is what the juries decided: Nebulossa sings “Zorra”, 149 pts Angy Fernández sings “Sé quién soy”, 137 pts Sofia Coll sings “Here to say”, 116 pts Miss Cafeina sings “Bla bla bla”, 105 pts Mantra sings “Me vas a ver”, 98 pts Noan sings “Te echo de”, 96 pts Lérica sings “Astronauta”, 82 pts Quique Niza sings “Prisionero”, 81 pts We can say hi to Nebulossa, Angy Fernández, Sofia Coll and Miss Cafeina in the final, upcoming Saturday!

Today, the gauntlet had been thrown: the decision on who performs in which semifinal has been made. 1st semifinal, 1st half: Ukraine Cyprus Poland Serbia Lithuania Croatia Ireland 1st semifinal, 2nd half: Slovenia Iceland Finland Portugal Luxembourg Australia Azerbaijan Moldova Sweden, United Kingdom and Germany will vote in this semifinal. 2nd semifinal, 1st half: Austria Malta Switzerland Greece Czechia Albania Denmark Armenia 2nd semifinal, 2nd half: Israel Estonia Georgia The Netherlands Norway Latvia San Marino Belgium Spain, Italy and France will vote in this semifinal. Beside the allocation draw it was also the moment when the mayor of Liverpool, Steve Rodham, handed over the key to the Eurovision host city to the mayor of Malmö, Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh.

🇪🇸 Spain: Benidorm Fest starts

Tonight, Benidorm Fest will start. It is the Spanish national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Each of the two semifinals will contain eight songs. Four songs each will go to the final on Saturday, 3 February. Tonight’s show will start on 22.50 CET and you can watch it here. Below you’ll find the titles and contestants: Lérica sings “Astronauta” Noan sings “Te echo de” Sofia Coll sings “Here to say” Mantra sings “Me vas a ver” Miss Cafeina sings “Bla bla bla” Quique Niza sings “Prisionero” Angy Fernández sings “Sé quién soy” Nebulossa sings “Zorra” None of the artists took part in Benidorm Fest before.

🇸🇪 Tonight: the semifinal allocation draw

photo: Culture Liverpool Tonight, the allocation draw to decide which country will perform in which semifinal, will take place. The draw starts at 19.00 CET and you can watch it here. Tonight, it will also be decided which country of the Big 5 will vote in which semifinal. And the third thing we will learn is where Sweden, who automatically will join in the final, will be performing. The countries will be drawn from several pots. Below you will find those pots.

🇱🇺 Luxembourg is back with Tali

Finally, there is a new Luxembourgish Eurovision Contestant, and it’s Tali. After an exciting voting, Tali was chosen to represent the country, for the first time since 1993. Her song “Fighter”, written and composed by Ana Zimmer, Manon Romiti and Silvio Lisbonne, will be the entry. At first, eight songs were presented, three went to the superfinal: Joel Marques, “Believer” Edsun, “Finally alive” Naomi Ayé, “Paumée sur terre” Angy & Rafa Ela, “Drop” One Last Time, “Devil in the detail” Krick, “Drowning in the rain” Chaild, “Hold on” Tali, “Fighter” The final result was decided by televoting and an expert jury together: Tali, “Fighter”, 178 Krick, “Drowning in the rain”, 165 Joel Marques, “Believer”, 136 Tali was the winner of the international jury and the televote.

🇱🇹 Two new finalists in Lithuania

And for the third time, Lithuania brings us their results. In Lithuania, two songs are chosen to go to the final on 17 February. The field of finalists in Norway is known. and KEiiNO will go to the final next week, where Norway will select its participant. 🇱🇺 Finally a new song for Luxembourg

After 31 years Luxembourg will select a Eurovision entry again. After the 1993 contest, Luxembourg has left Eurovision and did not return…. until now. Tonight, a new chapter will be added to the Luxembourg Eurovision history. Out of eight songs, Luxembourgish broadcaster RTL will select one. The show starts at 20.00 CET and you can watch it here. Of course, none of the contestants did participate before. However, we do have a familiar face: One of the hosts, Désirée Nosbusch, hosted the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest. Tonight is the night: the third episode of the Lithuanian preselection Eurovizija LT will be held. The show will exist of 5 semifinals, each with 8 songs. Two songs will head to the final. The Norwegian national final Melodi Grand Prix continues with a third semifinal. We will be able to watch three heats with 6 songs each. Half of the songs will go through to the final.
