Portugal: Festival da Canção, the last national final

Festival da Canção will reach it’s final tonight. That makes the Portuguese national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest the last one for this year. Only a few internal selected songs are not published yet. Festival da Canção has 13 songs this year. There were supposed to be twelve, but due to technichal issues an extra song had been added from the first semifinal. Sweden: Loreen favourite in Melodifestivalen

Loreen is the huge favourite to win Melodifestivalen 2023 with her song “Tattoo”. Bookmakers give the singer a chance of 86% to win the contest. As soon as her song was presented two weeks ago, Sweden is the top favourite even to win the entire contest. But…. nothing has been decided yet. The show starts at 20:00 CET and you can watch it here. These are the twelve contestants: 1 Jon Hendrik Fjällgren, Arc North feat. Azerbaijan: TuralTuranX goes to Liverpool

photo: Eurovision.tv There was news about Azerbaijan today. We know now that the duo TuralTuranX will represent this country. That is what Ictimai, the Azerbaijani broadcaster, announced today.  TuralTuranX was one of five shortlisted artists/groups for the job. The duo consists of the 22 year old twins Tural and Turan. They are street performers from Zaqatala in the north of Azerbaijan. The brothers will perform in the 2nd half of the 1st semifinal. The song is not yet published. Mae Muller will represent hostcountry United Kingdom in the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. That was reveiled this morning in Zoe Ball’s BBC 2 Breakfast Show.As the United Kingdom is one of the Big Five ánd the host country, the song “I wrote a song” will be placed directly in the final.  The song is written by Mae herself in cooperation with Lewis Thompson and Karen Poole. Tonight, Israel’s Noa Kirel presented her Eurovision Song “Unicorn”. Already in August last year, we knew that Noa is going to represent her country in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. The title of the song, “Unicorn”, has been announced already in January. Finally, we can also listen to the song. The song is written and composed by  by Doron Medalie, Yinon Yahel and May Sfadia. The song is called “Who the hell is Edgar” and is written and composed by Teya (Teodora Spirić) and Salena (Selina-Maria Edbauer) themselves along with Ronald Janeček and Pele Loriano. Yesterday, a teaser appeared on the site of ORF, the Austrian broadcaster. From today, we can listen to the Austrian entry. It will be presented in the 2nd half of the 2nd semifinal.

Remo is especially known as the winner of The Voice Of Switzerland 2020. On 20 February of this year, it was announced that he will represent Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest. Tonight, Israel’s Noa Kirel presented her Eurovision Song “Unicorn”. Already in August last year, we knew that Noa is going to represent her country in the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest. The title of the song, “Unicorn”, has been announced already in January. Finally, we can also listen to the song. The song is written and composed by  by Doron Medalie, Yinon Yahel and May Sfadia. Austria: “Who the hell is Edgar” is the song!

photo: ORF Teya and Salena, the duo that represents Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool, just presented their song. It premiered this morning. The song is called “Who the hell is Edgar” and is written and composed by Teya (Teodora Spirić) and Salena (Selina-Maria Edbauer) themselves along with Ronald Janeček and Pele Loriano. Yesterday, a teaser appeared on the site of ORF, the Austrian broadcaster. From today, we can listen to the Austrian entry. It will be presented in the 2nd half of the 2nd semifinal.

Switzerland: Remo Forrer to sing “Watergun”

Remo is especially known as the winner of The Voice Of Switzerland 2020. On 20 February of this year, it was announced that he will represent Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest. Diljá will represent Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. The singer will sing the song “Power”, written and composed by Dilja Pétursdóttir herself together with Pálmi Ragnar Ásgeirsson.
