Recap of the 4th rehearsal day

Today was a day of pleasant surprises. Georgia showed us a beautiful act, although we still don’t get Tornike’s behaviour during the last performance. Albania and Portugal surprised with great performances. Finland and Denmark did exactly what we expected from these countries: Finland gave a rock performance and Denmark brought us back in time. The performances of Bulgaria and Switzerland made us gasp, nothing more, nothing less. Biggest disappointment? Maybe Latvia. The Latvian performance is okay, but it did not stand out, especially not in this strong field of participants.

Rehearsal Denmark: eighties coming back

With lots of blue and purple graphics that remind you of the disco of your youth, with glittering suits in purple and silver and with the song “Øve oss på hinanden” you are completely back in the 80s. miss, with singer Jesper Groth halting the rehearsal. Soon the duo started again. Jesper’s vocals were unfortunately a bit poor. Gjon’s Tears impressed very much with his performance.   in cooperation with Eurovision Artists

Rehearsal Latvia: of green and gold

The color that Samanta Tīna and her backing vocals wear is green. It is remarkable that the backings wear the same mudguards they had when they won the national final last year. In the background, we see golden graphics that are a cross between a snake print and a turtle shell. Then two pairs of hands rise above that, also gold. Samanta has a strong voice, with which she brings this song perfectly. The song itself is and remains one for the connoisseur.

Rehearsal Finland: Rotterdaaaaaaaam!

The Finnish band Blind Channel performs with in the background, on the LED screens, images of the band itself, but then upside down. Because they sing about a middle finger, the band members have painted their middle fingers red. Furthermore, the band mainly presents itself like a rock band usually does: the musicians all have an important role in the act. Of course, this act also includes fireworks: lots of flames around the stage. And in the middle of the song the two singers shout out loud: Rotterdaaaaaaaam!   in cooperation with Eurovision Artists

Rehearsal Bulgaria: Victoria on a rock

The number 1 at the bookmakers last year was Victoria from Bulgaria. Could she make it happen this year? The staging can at least be called special: optimal use has been made of all visual possibilities, making it look like Victoria is sitting and later standing on a rock in the water and singing her song there. And yes, she also sings it vocally perfect, with her special voice.

Rehearsal Portugal: no concessions

Just like Hooverphonic, the Portuguese band The Black Mamba makes few concessions and presents itself as a band. The first verse and chorus are presented entirely in black and white, after which the sober graphics turn out to be blue. It is music you have to love, the performance is, also vocally, perfectly fine. in cooperation with Eurovision Artists

Rehearsal Albania: a strong voice

Smoke and a wind machine accompany Anxhela Peristeri during her performance. A lot of red and black make it clear that this is Albania, in addition to the fact that Anxhela sings in her own language. Anxhela surprises with her strong-voiced ballad, perhaps one of the best of the festival. Anxhela is alone on stage, unfortunately the backing vocals are on tape as with many others.   in cooperation with Eurovision Artists

Rehearsal Georgia: a double surprise!

Tornike starts out in the dark with only a spotlight on him. During the song there is more color in the graphics: initially clouds and stars, then also beautiful orange sunlight. Tornike does not move throughout the song. Vocally he presented the ballad perfectly. The Georgian entry, which has gone quite unnoticed so far, surprises with the second run. With the third, however, it seemed as if he was going to experiment and sang both an octave lower and higher. It is not clear what the purpose of this experiment was.   in cooperation with Eurovision Artists
