It is Destiny Chukunyere who won the X-Factor. That means she will represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam. Destiny is most known for winning the Junior Eurovision Song Contest but she also entered the Eurovision stage once: last year, as a backing vocal for Malta. After an exciting night it was Samanta Tīna who won Supernova with her song “Still breathing”. The song was composed by herself and written by another familiar name in Eurovision: Aminata Savadogo, who represented Latvia in 2015 and wrote the 2016 entry. The Norwegian results are in. That means, we know the last finalist for Norway. The duels were: Jenny Jenssen vs. Elin & The WoodsKevin Boine vs Liza Vassilieva final duel:Elin & The Woods vs. Liza Vassilieva That means, Liza Vassilieva will sing “I am gay” in the final.

Tonight, we will be able to watch the final of the 2002 Festival of San Remo. You will be able to watch it from 20:30 CET here. 23 contestants will compete for the trophy. Before the final, they all had to declare whether they want to represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest. If it is a ‘yes’, this will be known right after the contest during the winners press conference. If not, it is likely that Italy will have a contestant tomorrow afternoon. Last year, during the winners press conference, Mahmood stated he wanted to go to Eurovision, but later started to doubt. That is not possible this year. They were supposed to sing “Sincero”, but were disqualified because Morgan decided to change the lyrics, which is not allowed. The words he sang were clearly meant to insult Bugo,: “The bad intentions, the rudeness, your bad figure last night, your ingratitude, your arrogance, do what you want by putting your feet on your head. ” is what he sang. But you only know how to cultivate envy. Thank the sky if you are on this stage, respect who brought you here and this is certainly me.” An angry Bugo left the stage. Apart from this disqualification: so far, Francesco Gabbani is in the lead. It would be the 2nd time for him to represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest.    

It’s also time for Malta to select a singer…. not a song. The final of X-Factor Malta will take place tonight from 20:30. You can watch it here. The four contestants are: Kyle Cutajar Justine Shorfid Destiny Chukunyere F.A.I.T.H. The jury consists of Howard Keith Debono, Ray Mercieca, Alexandra Alden and Ira Losco.

Tonight you can watch Latvia choose a song for Europe. The way they select is a little bit different from other years. There has been one semifinal with 26 auditions, and now they will have 9 songs in competition. Toms Grēviņš, Ketija Šēnberga and Beta Beidz will host the show at 20.25 CET.  You can watch it here. Edgar Kreilis took part in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Miks Dukurs did many attempts, but never reached the final… until now. Samanta Tīna took part in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016. Two times she even reached the superfinal.
